About Us
Commits was established in 2001, with an objective to bridge the gap between academia and industry. The college grew from strength to strength and churned out professionals in an industry that was growing rapidly and that required a pool of professionals with comprehensive media talent. In a short span of time Commits came to be recognised by the industry as a leading media and mass communication college. Today Commits is among the top three choices for any student aspiring to become a qualified media professional.
The degree is awarded by Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal (Established by Act No.15 of 1990 by Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, in accordance with UGC guidelines). Makhanlal University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Association of Indian Universities (www.mcu.ac.in), and is a UGC-recognised Indian state university. It is NOT an Open University providing distance education. It does not provide education through correspondence. It is not a conventional university having limited territorial jurisdiction. It has jurisdiction throughout the country. The University imparts education outside the country also. The University has its headquarters in Bhopal, with campuses in Noida, Delhi and Khandwa. While the Vice President of India is the Visitor of the University, the General Council of the University consists of:
• A member of the Lok Sabha, nominated by the Speaker of Lok Sabha
• A member of the Rajya Sabha, nominated by the Chairperson of Rajya Sabha
• Chairman of the Press Council of India
• Ten members representing different states nominated by the respective Chief Ministers
• Three members representing three All India Professional Bodies.
The degree is recognized and valid all over the world, and can be used for higher education in India or further studies abroad.
